Action: On this day, I took my CPR/AED. for the next two years, I am certified to perform CPR, and use an AED. This class was very basic, and it is not what firefighters are expected to learn, but it is what one should know in an emergency while they wait for the paramedics or firefighters.
Next Action: My next action is to plan my final presentation. I will probably meet up with Mr. Mannion one last time, but i will probably not blog it.
How am I Doing?: I am ready for the final presentation. I am going to use everything I have learned, and I am confident that it will be enough for a good grade.

Mentor Log #6
Date: April 28, 2012
Time Spent: 3 hour 30 minutes
Total time: 16 hours 30 minutes
Action: Today, I finally visited Tom's fire station! I got to see all of the awesome equipment that fire fighters get to work with, and got to learn about them also. I also got to meet the people that he works with, and you can tell that they really see each other as a team/family. Overall, I can see why Tom loves being a fire fighter. the pictures that i got at the station will be used in my presentation.
Next Action: My next action is to take my CPR class and hopefully pass it so I can use what I have learned in my presentation.
How am I Doing?: Personally, I feel that I have learned so much in this little time. I feel that with the knowledge that i have acquired, the final presentation will be no problem.

Action: These are the hours I have spent researching information for my paper. I used internet resources, books, and magazines. This does not include the film I watched about the fire academy.
Next Action: Now that I got my A on my senior paper, I am ready to visit the fire station, and take my CPR class.
How am I Doing? The fact that I got a good grade on my senior got me really excited about my physical project. the two biggest components of my project are coming up, and I couldn't be more ready.

Actions: During these days, I watched the film that Mr. Mannion gave me. It seemed almost like a military training video because the work they had to go was intense. This film game me a good sense of what it is like to train to be a fire fighter.
Next Action: My next action is to make my paper perfect. I am not sure if i should count my research time, but I still am going to.
How am I Doing? I am excited about my Paper, and even more excited about my CPR classes, and visiting the fire station.

Action: This is the last day that we will meet at Starbucks before the real work will begin. In this meeting, we decided that I will take a CPR/AED class to see what firefighters have to learn. We also decided that after senior paper is done with, we will meet at his fire station. In Addition to this, I received a video tape which is a documentary film on Tom's time at the Fire Academy.
Next Action: My next Action and focus will be the senior Paper. I will research, and use the resources given to me by Mr. Mannion.
How Am I doing?: Now that I have a game plan on how to get my hours, I am a little less stressed about senior project. I am also excited about my paper, because i already know what to research, and what my paper is going to be about.
